PULSE¶

Official definition¶

PULSE is a human-centered Decision Intelligence methodology and operating philosophy that reduces the distance between organizational reality and better decisions by turning trusted data and context into shared understanding, action, and measurable learning.

PULSE does not claim to be a scientifically validated theory, software product, chatbot, dashboard or technology maturity scale.

Role within CDI¶

PULSE provides the decision orientation and complete cycle used by this ecosystem. CDI focuses more narrowly on conversational Human–AI collaboration. They are related, not interchangeable:

PULSE may be applied without conversation;
conversational analytics may exist without PULSE;
a CDI application in this ecosystem must preserve decision, evidence, action, governance and learning.

Positions PULSE preserves¶

start with What decision do we want to improve?
keep humans in effective control of purpose, limits and consequences;
treat evidence, context and uncertainty as first-class inputs;
select the least complex interface that improves the decision;
connect decisions to action, results and learning;
make value observable without manufacturing causality.
